Just what the catlins needs,

Love this line
"Mr Devries said the Catlins was "one of the most beautiful places we've all ever been to" and Mr Losness planned to tell friends about the area."

To be or not to be that is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them.

and I quote 'and Mr Losness planned to tell friends about the area....

Tourism Dunedin chief executive Hamish Saxton said with a monthly print readership of 700,000, and a website which generated 4.4 million hits a month, Surfer would garner international attention for the South.'

KETTLE

POT

BLACK

Ever thought that alot of info could of indirectly come from this website, isomag, DVD's and even the Riptide articles???

Apart from naming the spots how are they any different apart from the fact that they are probably more mainstream????

How many "secret" spots have been exposed directly and indirectly on this site?

Negative crim.

Chris Burkard is a Californian ex-bodyboarder, now surf photographer who in his spare time still shoots bodyboarders around the Central Coast/San Francisco area.

To be honest, he should know better. He constantly travels around the world shooting some of the freshest images but always visits secret spots, especially in Central and Northern California where secret spots are tightly guarded by scary locals and big great whites.

Well yes they should know better gi joe. But unfortunately human nature is such that dollar signs flashing in front of people's eyes makes goodness fly out the window.

Glad I'm not so easily influenced myself .... he he... urm.. mumble murmur .....

But seriously, surfing as a commercial activity just keeps clashing with those core values around the act of surfing and its world. The two just don't go.
